Replace Random Bursts of Inspiration and Slow Self-Teaching with Steady, Predictable Growth In Your Craft
You’ve watched videos.
You’ve taken courses.
You’ve spent countless hours in your DAW.Â
But something still feels missing.Â
What you hear coming out of your speakers doesn’t match what you hear in your head.
You don’t want to watch 30 more hours of video, searching for the one gem you can take away - then 10 more hours trying to figure out how to implement it.
You want an experienced ear to:
- Listen to your tracks
- Identify your weak spots in minutes
- Fix the problem right in front of you
- Tell you exactly what you need to do to turn that weakness into a strength
That’s what 1:1 sessions are all about.Â
Here's The Process
This isn’t a pre-built curriculum or set of generic lessons.
It’s a high-touch music development relationship - built 100% around you.
Think of it like having an empathetic personal trainer and a co-producer with 15+ years of experience, whose only job is to help you level up.
Here’s what we do:
1. Diagnose where you are now, and where you want to be
A good doctor doesn’t prescribe a solution before figuring out the problem. We:
- Listen to your favorite music and help you understand what makes it work.
- Look at your sessions and find your real bottlenecks.
- Have deep discussions to help you identify what really inspires you in music.Â
This gives us a clear picture of exactly what we need to do to get you making the music you actually want to make.
2. Work in your DAW on your real music together
We don’t just talk theory. We:
- Open & discuss your projects
- Fix things in-real time, together
- Help you understand what “better” actually sounds and looks like - using the tools you already have
From writing melodies to making sounds to mixing and mastering - all the way to finishing real tracks. Whatever we need to do.Â
In many cases, you don’t need more plugins. You just need to see how it’s done.
Â
3. Give you targeted practice so your weakest link becomes a strength
Getting better isn’t about consuming endless knowledge.
It's about knowing what you need to practice to improve the skills that will help you create with confident flow.
After each session you will have targeted homework to help you improve steadily and predictably.Â
Real Examples:
- Bad with chords or melody? You will write at least 10 of them this week with specific constraints.
- Tracks feel muddy and dead? You will mix the same loop in 3 different ways to train your ear.
- Not sure how a song you love works? You will recompose it by ear in your piano roll - then I will check your work and help you understand the takeaways.
This is the secret to why you will get so much better, so much faster. Because you’re doing the right work - then getting critique to help you improve your form.
Â
4. Tweak our focus as needed to match your growth
As you grow, so will our sessions.Â
Some programs may promise “mastery in 3 months” - but in the real-world, that’s not how it works.Â
Because the secret to actual mastery is that it’s a goal you never reach. It’s always pulling you towards it, forcing you to find your new weakness, and make it better.Â
Ask any successful creator - they’re still focused on where they can improve.Â
Becoming a “master” at music isn’t a destination. It’s embracing the never ending road of exciting challenges.Â
I’ll be here to push you to the next best version of yourself as long as it feels right.

The Results of Our Work
The main result is continually growing confidence and competence in your craft.Â
Where you feel like:
- You can open your DAW and create with speed, clarity & excitement instead of frustration
- Your music reflects an intention inside you
- You understand why music works - and can identify problems quickly, then fix them
- You’re aren’t just “making tracks” - you’re building a body of work that leaves behind a unique story - your story
The secondary results are everything that naturally radiates from that.
For some people, that might look like:
- Quietly building a personal catalog that feels meaningful
- Releasing music and growing a following who values the spirit in your sound
- Moving into licensing, credits or industry workÂ
We can talk about opportunities and direction as your skills level up - but the foundation is always the craft.
Â
Who This Is For:
Historically, my best students:
- Are self-motived to improve, and already spending a lot of time making music
- Value the clear direction, encouragement & accountability they get with a mentor
- Enjoy having philosophical discussions as well as practical ones
- Feel they have a musical voice inside them that’s burning to come out more freely
- Want to show up as a continually growing version of themselves to succeed in personal growth or industry goals
If this sounds like you, we’ll get along great.
Â
Structure & Expectations
- 90-minute Zoom sessions
This is the baseline. If we’re in a good flow sometimes we'll go longer. - We work directly in your DAW
I will control your computer so we can work on your music and analyze your favorite tracks together. - We typically meet weekly or twice a month
Life happens. If something comes up, we just reschedule. The goal is steady forward movement, not perfection. - We do whatever is needed that day
Writing, sound design, mixing, arrangement, workflow, track analysis, big-picture direction - we use the time for what will move you forward most. - You leave each session with clear homework
Simple, targeted assignments designed to steadily build your skills and finish your tracks. - You have text/voice access between sessions
For questions, accountability, and quick check-ins when you need a nudge or a second pair of ears.
After teaching thousands of sessions I've found this to be the most flexible, consistent way to get you results while respecting that we're both humans with lives.
Next Step: Get a Free Consultation
If this feels like it might be the right next step for your growth, fill out the form below for a free consultation.Â
- Consultations are typically 15 to 45 minutes
- We chat over WhatsApp or Zoom, whichever you prefer
On the call, we’ll simply:
- Talk about your music
- Clarify where you feel stuck
- Explore what working together could look like
We’ll talk exact numbers on the call, but to give you a sense:
- The investment is roughly what you’d expect to pay for a few high-quality private lessons per month
- Most students work with me for at least a few months, so we can build momentum and see real change togetherÂ
If it sounds like a fit, we’ll find a meeting schedule that works and you’ll get your first homework assignment.
If you resonate with my philosophy, please feel comfortable reaching out. I will never pressure you if it doesn’t feel right for either of us.Â
This is a relationship we build, and the last thing I want is to work with someone who isn’t fully on board.
Looking forward to hearing your music and supporting your passion for the craft.
A Few Student Stories
NIKOLAS:
Electronic producer who felt stuck with finishing tracks and knowing next steps after finishing them.
During sessions we focused on how to finish songs, and how to position your music for the production music industry.Â
In a few months together finished 12 songs.
Used those songs to get accepted into a Music Library - earning him immediate income, and creating his first music royalty stream.
OMAR:
Electronic and hip hop influenced producer interested in getting into music for media. Trained him in the fundamentals, and gave him new workflows to use.
During our time he finished 5 new tracks in the time it used to take him to finish one.Â
Short after was accepted into multiple music libraries and is landing placements, including Major League Baseball, CBS Sports and Fortnite.
JOE:
A professional pianist who wanted to learn more about producing music, especially for video games.
Gave him new workflows to finish music, and helped music become something he could do every day.
Consulted him on how to earn income through custom work, and creating packs for video game marketplaces.
He has since done work for several games, and has won recognition for his high selling game packs on Unity Marketplace.
PEPPY:
An electronic producer who wanted to learn more about music theory for EDM songwriing.
Anaylzed where he was stuck, then helped him get confident in his writing in 8 weeks. This gave him new inspiration and skills which helped him finish tracks consistently again.
Today he has multiple tracks signed with 100,000’s of plays .
JAY:
An accomplished songwriter who wanted to learn how to produce music, especially for television & media.
During sessions we focused on composition fundamentals, and how to finish songs. He even got a sports placement with one of the tracks we finished during sessions.
We would also discuss finding your spot in the industry through self reflection.
MATT:
A more established producer who wanted to understand more about how to create music for licensing placements so he could build a long-term royalty-based income.
After a few weeks finished 5 new songs using the guidelines I gave him. Shortly after was picked up by a library.
In Matt's words:
"My private coaching sessions with Avery have been extremely valuable to my understanding of how to structure music for licensing uses and how to begin the process of pitching my music for placement.
Avery's vast knowledge of theory, composition, production and sound design for numerous genres allowed him to help me focus in on my strengths as a producer while also improving my weaknesses.
I now feel very confident in my ability to quickly create professional-quality tracks in multiple different licensing formats. If you're ready to get serious about your production & business skills, Avery will absolutely help you take your music to the next level."
DANIEL:
Wanted to improve his musicianship as a composer & producer so he could get more in control of his music for both clients & music placements.
Now finishing music consistently that is directly being funneled into libraries & positioned for consistent placements.
In Daniel's words:
“I reached out to Avery to enhance my composition skills for TV & studio clients. He helped me develop my composing & arranging techniques to write broadcast quality tracks.
I’m currently providing original music for music libraries with placements on NBC, MLB, and E!, and producing 2-3 projects a week for my studio clients. My clients love what we are creating, and routinely contact me for more work!
Working with Avery was the best decision I’ve made as a producer - he’s my music industry “coach”, and I’d recommend him to anyone looking to lead a professional music career.”
MARY:
Wanted to feel more confident in production so she could submit her music to opportunities & license them. Now she has finished many new songs and landed multiple placements on television.
JON:
Helped audit his tracks & give guidance on how to produce and submit music to Stock Music & Libraries.
Now consistently landing placements & writing for publishers.
Justin:
From confused about how to finish professional tracks or attract clients to building an impressive demo reel & landing his first paying music client.
“Working with you was the missing piece. I now have more fun, and feel confident in my production & career direction. This was more impactful than my entire college experience, and a hell of a lot cheaper. I gained more momentum in 2 months than in my previous years.”
Justin is a 10+ year musician and composer. Before working with me, he felt overwhelmed and confused about how to finally take his productions to a professional level, and how to attract client work. Specifically, he wanted to compose for video games.
After only a few months of working together, he is now finishing songs consistently, building an impressive demo reel, posting on social media in a way that will attract clients, and has even landed his first paid gig!
RICKY:
Felt completely out of control in music but knew it was a passion he wanted to take seriously.
Together we helped him massively improve his mindset and production skills until he began finishing beats consistently.
Eventually he met with Illmind who complimented his melodies.
Today he is producing for artists and finishing songs consistently to positive feedback from clients & the music industry.
BEN:
Came to me as an early intermediate producer who wanted to make dramatic improvements and become a track finishing machine, able to play his songs out in his DJ sets.
Together we gave him the accountability and feedback he needed to make all of this happen.
He finished 30 songs during our time together, began playing them out at clubs, and even had The Chainsmokers send him a private video asking to hear more of his music.
Today he is growing his professional career as a DJ, producer, and is getting positive feedback from crowds and professionals.
ANDREW:
A talented producer who came to me wanting to take the step to build more confidence in the professional world as a producer. Now he's gotten tracks signed to a library and has his first placement.
In his own words, here were our results:
"When I started with Avery, I'd put together a couple good songs but I really struggled with finishing things consistently and getting everything to a professional level. So I had two goals for my time with Avery: 1. I wanted to be able to quickly and consistently finish professional quality music, and 2. I wanted to start learning more about how to get involved with the sync world - as it was something I had absolutely no idea where to start.
Avery took the time to really dig in, ask a lot of questions, and understand these goals and put together a plan of how to achieve them. He spent as much time needed to make sure that we covered everything, that I had all of my questions answered, and really breaking down how to do everything step by step.
During my time with Avery, I was able to put together a collection of high quality songs to start pitching to libraries, which have since been accepted and released. I also completed a remix for a contest I wanted to enter, which was done based on prior feedback received from Avery. That remix ended up winning the contest and getting a label release as well.
Thanks to my time with Avery, I now have the ability (and just as importantly, the confidence) to continue with the roadmap we created to keep putting together and pitching professional quality music, both for libraries, and as an artist."
